NEW YORK, March 15 (Reuters) - Computer networking company Cisco Systems Inc. (NasdaqNM:CSCO - news) said on Wednesday it closed its $799 million purchase of Aironet Wireless Communications Inc., its first acquisition in the arena of local wireless networks.
Under the terms of the all-stock deal, Cisco will pay 0.637 shares of its stock for each Aironet option and warrant. Following Cisco's stock split, scheduled for March 22, the exchange rate will be adjusted to 1.24678 shares for each Aironet option.
Cisco's shares closed down 3-1/8 at 128-5/8 on Wednesday on the Nasdaq stock market.
