So far so good for us today. AWRE is flat and GSPN is down in the 80's. Far cry from the strong buy at 160. Obviously the support at 160 was very weak. AWRE had weak support at 60 but still better off.

Maybe this is a signal for AWRE's Intel relationship, and a signal for GSPN's relationship with INTC.

I will continue to track GSPN because it may have hidden meaning for us.

Analysts are privy to information the average investor isn't given. Matter of fact this thread addressed that issue recently when we were questioning what occurred at the Nova Research Conference. biz.yahoo.com

Francis Bacon is quoted as saying... "Knowledge is power."

I for one contend, in the case of investing and market timing. Knowing what others do not, gives one the advantage to buy low sell high. Based on that simplistic argument, I say the analysts have an ability to profit at the expense of the small investor. Should we call it "manipulating the stock price"?...maybe...maybe not, but, it sure could be. Is it an advantage, NO DOUBT...IMO.

What many small investors share, is the great ability to sell stocks when they're down, due to panic, fear or whatever...but not sell when they're up and they feel comfortable, happy and wise.

"The problem with the person who thinks he's a long-term investor and impervious to short-term gyrations is that the emotion of fear and pain will eventually make him sell badly."-Robert Wibbelsman

And now this:

It's a tough job, but somebody has to do it. Not to worry, I'm picking the NAZDAQ up and putting it up where it belongs. <Whew>

This is not paranoia ... if you think these guys who are professional play the game any other way than to win ... you are wrong ... I cannot count the number of time I have seen a stock recommended only to see it fall ... or a stock downgraded only to see it rise ... think about it ...

>>Anyway, how would they "manipulate the stock price"? This type of paranoia makes me laugh

have you ever watched the price action on AWRE? minute to minute?

Then compare up and down volumes after these huge price declines. Somebody wants shares, they say to bid it down. They get em.

i am not complaining now. And I know better than to panic in the down draft. But somebody did, and they lost some 8 to 10 points ago.

It is also why I think we are entering a bear market. I hope to be wrong on that front, big time. But I just saw the type of price action of 1998 (no market making). No paranoia, just gut feelings. Happens after 15 yrs of playing.
