I think Paul Johnson has been at Robbie Stephens since at least 1996. Whatever.

I agree with your point that information given to analysts in private meetings can then move markets when the analyst announces it to his audience (institutional sales and institutional portfolio managers), and it sucks that individual investors don't get to hear it.

However, the point I was disagreeing with was something that sounded like a brokerage is "manipulating the stock to make money for their clients", which is hogwash.

You are talking about individuals having slower access to information that equity research professionals possess - which is true and it does suck. I'm talking about brokerages controlling stock price movement for some profit oriented purpose, which for non-penny stocks, does not occur (IMHO).

Anyway, DSL rocks.
