<< ML is putting Tern in its new HOLDRs for broadband companies. >>

i think it's strictly a function of market cap. they pick the top 20 in a sector by capitalization.

DB:

Interesting, but not mind-boggling. Remember, TERN is more than a cable modem company. They've been expanding into other areas of broadband, so in a way, it is entirely appropriate for ML to include TERN in their broadband hybrid.

Those that want to expose TERN should be careful what they wish for. It is no coincidence that when TERN sold off bigtime in the past days that it took CMTO down with it. When TERN rallied off its low today, so did CMTO. CMTO longs who want to make money should wish that TERN achieves $300 stock price because that will highlight the bargain valuation of CMTO vs its peer group and help CMTO reaching $100+ stock price this year.

BTW, today's Wall Street Journal had an excellent article on broadband cable internet access/cable modems. Not surprisingly, it raised valid issues that I would describe as "industry growing pains".

PS - Couldn't resist and added some more CMTO this morning at 51.
