It looks like this will be Kernan's running joke for the day. Did you hear the later comments about Uniphasians and Unitarians?

I'm beginning to think this is like show business--any publicity is good publicity as long as they spell your name right. I can remember when I got into UNPH a little over a year ago, Joe Kernan didn't even know what they did. We've come a long way, baby.

Actually, JDSU is selling for way more than 100 x earnings:

Compare the range of p/e multiples for JDSU recently with those for DELL during its meteoric rise in the '90's:

Even when Dell was growing its fastest, it never sported the p/e's JDSU does today. Isn't it possible that the widely held anticipation that JDSU will be the DELL of the coming decade (or even surpass that performance) is already to some extent priced into the stock? I know the revenue growth rate of JDSU has been and may continue to be something like 100%, compared with Dell's revenue growth rate of about 50% during that time, but still...
