Yes, of course there's anxiety when submitting a thesis for review.

It seems obvious that Suzanne may have been upset. It also seems obvious that Jim would not have been overly concerned.

The point is Jim does not seem to recognize the fact that Suzanne could have been upset.

I see a parallel with the reported *stalking*. The women see it one way and Jim says he has no clue how they could feel that way.

If someone misinterprets my words or actions...upon reflection I can usually figure out why. So when Jim..upon reflection..can not figure out why Suzanne may have been upset or why one or more? women thought he was stalking or following or whatever..then I feel justified in assuming he may not be forthright with his responses.
