V,
Since it's Saturday I thought I would bring you all up to date as to how one CC student did this month. I made a mistake yeterday and bought back March 90 Elon Calls. Did the math backwards-- but did not get severly burned. Most importantly, it was a good learning experience.

Now, I did write 10 contracts on April calls. Took the check I received and eliminated all my credit card debt. My next move will be in April when I will use the same capital (margined) and take the money and cancel a huge amount of the college loans I took on my two kids. Then I am going to eliminate my equity loan, and finally, I am going to move up to the coast of Maine and do this for a living.

Thanks for your help and advice.

Len

se¤or volvo-

have not written or posted much to you lately and did not want you to feel left out...

much of my posting is driven by desire to be inclusive and weave webs that connect us all in an information and communications network... little work is needed in your direction. i think you're starting to feel at home here and comfortable with speaking your mind <jocular understatement ;-) for comic relief>.

enjoyed your reply to jck. you're one of few i know who can take a demonstrative, two-word, obscene phrase and gently romance it into a full page philosophical admonition. once again, ed forrest's claim that you're paid by the word comes to mind.

that said, let me take a minute to restate my gratitude for your presence here. muchas gracias. in many of our lives, upon retrospection, there can be found an individual, (whether it be a relative, friend, teacher, coach, professor, or mentor) that profoundly altered our course toward a higher goal. it's usually someone who possesses a quality or essence about them that demonstrates a richer or fuller experience of life. at this point in my life you are such an individual. you have something i desire and it has attracted me to you, that i might learn from you and share in it's bounty.

one of these things is your ability to aquire wealth. a worthy thing to learn. but more importantly, you appear to have the knowledge or skill that allows you not only, to NOT be possessed by it, but to use its powers in ways that enrich your soul and the spirits of those you come into contact with. that, my friend, is living the good life.

thanks for being here. thanks for freely sharing your knowledge. and thanks for continuing to grow as you teach me and others your lessons. i plan to be like you one day... attractive.

To Voltaire and all,

Here's my first real post on the thread and I want to follow up a private thank you with a much needed public recognition of the selfless and well intended lessons that Tom and others provide. The TA and options discussions are invaluable assists in my dd. Of course on this thread, DD takes on a whole different meaning.

I was fortunate to catch Tom's drift when he first floated the CC writing for income concept on the Buy Range thread. Like Jill the other night, when the light finally goes on, the reality of how this works is staggering. My version seems to be slightly different from what has been discussed recently, but works perfectly for me.

BTW elpolvo (or is that lospolvo), you now have a half-Armenian on the porch though it certainly isn't the one you were looking for.

Paul

How do you people spell "opossum?"

I'm thinking of changing my SI moniker and want to ensure that my (southern) spelling is appropriate and acceptable to the "Porch members."

Thanks!

Well, guys....thanks for all your responses to my comments.

And, again, this is not directed at Voltaire. I'm just clicking on his name in order to post.

I totally and completely agree with you regarding the judgment seat. That was the whole point. You see, when you make all kinds of judgments about people and then someone gives you a little taste of what you give out, all hell breaks loose and insult after insult is hurled. Obviously you don't like being judged either. If you are going to dish it out, you should be able to take it.

I also agree with you about being sanctimonious. It's difficult to say anything like I did without sounding like that, although that was not my intention. We all sound sanctimonious when we put forth values that we feel are worth defending. You all sounded just as sanctimonious in defending vulgarity, for example. It's almost unavoidable when values come up.

One of the reasons people like and appreciate SI is that it tries not to descend to the lowest common denominator as, for example, the Yahoo boards do. This is a public forum and does not belong to you. SI would prefer that we keep the vulgar and obscene out of here -- go back and read the rules if you have forgotten.

Young people read these boards too, but hey, why should any of you care about that? The herd consciousness that can develop in cyberspace may give one the illusion that a board like this is some island out of touch with the world, but really, it's very public.

Anyway, I said what I felt needed saying and had all the right in the world to say it. If you disagree, that's fine. I certainly didn't expect anything to change because of it and fully expected to receive the rude replies. That doesn't mean it was not worth saying.

You might consider this -- if, for example, you really feel compelled to give updates on wet dreams and the like, maybe you could send them via private message to whoever really feels they need to know that kind of information. Just a suggestion.

I'll just leave you to each other now.
