JKC, You might be missing the big picture... (I'm not trying to insult you with this message.) Several weeks ago, when I first saw a lot of the type of posts you mentioned, I at first felt that there could be those who could feel insulted by them. Soon I figured it out... One weekend there was a series of posts about someone's cat or dog dying. Followed by a lot of support and offerings of sorrow and stories of common experiences. Soon after that, in an unrelated series of posts, I saw members quoting the Bible. Many people joined in. I've often read other people giving their meaning of life interpretations and philosophies. I've seen several posts about childhood memories. I've seen posts where people have exposed some of their skeletons and some posts about their closets. I've seen tons of great stock information. I've witnessed friendships being made and broken. I've read countless entertaining posts about nothing of importance. Sometimes the lack of importance is what I needed to remind me that there is more to life than watching the darn ticker. It's my opinion that you are missing a lot of the other stuff that happens around here on this lovely porch... If you do see that, why not comment about the good stuff as well? Getting back to the CNBC comments... Picture a bunch of pathetic fools sitting around their computer typing messages into cyberspace. These same middle-aged, has-beens, are commenting about the plastic news anchor women and men that they couldn't probably get even if they wanted to... You are missing a big part of the joke. Sure some of the talk is crass. But it's only talk... We are killing time. Goofing off. I don't think words can really hurt anyone. If they do, SI has a great feature where you can ignore the person by not clicking on their posts. Real life contains far much more vulgarity than anything written here. Lighten up a little. Get the joke. Don't take every written word to heart. Help balance out some of the negativity here with some nice inspiring posts. Tell us about yourself. What do you like. We already know some of the stuff you don't like... Again, this isn't meant to insult. I don't work that way. Peace. Yer fren, Clappy P.S. Got any jokes? P.P.S.
