I agree that we operate on Internet time and the dynamics described in the book are much speeded up. IMHO it is worthwhile to dip your toe in the water in legitimate gorilla wanna-bes that fit the criteria sans tornado. If nothing else it helps you get to know the company and you can participate in pre-torando run-ups and Russian army them if you guessed wrong.

The premise of finding the value chain, analyzing the architecture, kicking the tires on the barriers to entry are still almost priceless. To have a framework from which to operate probably is priceless.
