T he Reuters story by Michael Battye dated 3/19 demonstrates that at least CHINA HAS A SHORT TERM WAIT AND SEE attitude AFTER Chen offered to travel to China for reconciliation talks before his May 20 inaugeration....suggesting China prepared to be pragmatic......fwiw i dont think dumping amat and cymi in Jan because of mainland CHINA was a particularly wise position particularly the way most of us trade.....finally lets not let this latest salvo of pessimistic fear create a irrational dumping of amat or cymi with cymi admitedly the most vulnerable because it is less known and understood.....i bet that guy dumped rmbs at 88 back then also.

Zeev , after reading my prior post to you it hit me between the eyes that the irrational fear dumping of CYMI because of Taiwan elections and Chinese sAber rattling ALLREDY OCCURED EARLIER THIS WEEK AND LAST WEEK and therefore many of us were able to pick up cymi at 47 or better(ggg)which has to be the bargain of the year after Friday,s pop and next weeks normal return to the 60s.......in view of China's polite reaction to the TAIWAN ELECTION ......So the guys who panicked and dumped did us bottom fishermen a big favor!!!!

Zeev,

Playing devil's advocate here, I think the elected president is one of the last people who could have much influence over China. IMO, he has been bought and paid for.
