1)Look like Via's confidence in CPU is decreasing.

(2)Via will focus in greater China area.

If true, very good for AMD and Intel -- the perceived competitive presure will be downward a bit. Good for the stocks.


I agree.....the margins in the cpu business must have been hurting the numbers in their core business.

Yougang, re:VIA spinning off CPU company.
I hope this new company does not include chipsets and that they remain with the stronger VIA group.

Seems like a good strategy to me --
If the CPU's are successful, they offer shares to the public.
If not, they can probably insulate themselves from its losses.
