hmaly,

Intel has guarded the corporate market space like a pit bull for a decade. I'm not inclined to believe that they have strayed from this fundamental operating principle.

Hmaly,
RE:"Intel is selling servers against Dell, and owns a company which makes and sells Intel computers in competition against all boxmakers."...

Let's not forget Linux boxes vs Microsoft and RAMBUS vs Micron, an exclusive Intel boxmaker.

Scumbia, that is the normal thinking, but what if you are arrogant enough to think you are better than AMD and all you have to do to get your customers back is come out with Willy? Has Intel ever worried about their customers lately? Intel is selling servers against Dell, and owns a company which makes and sells Intel computers in competition against all boxmakers.

hmly,

You don't think that Barrett and company haven't been taking it in the butt for all their misfires this past year....from directors, analysts, shareholders, hedge fund managers, and the like. I am sure there beads have been read to them....there is no way that mgmt. can screw up in the way that they have in the past year and not be held accountable.

I don't think Intel can afford to look bad anymore and thats why they launched the 1 G prematurely (and all the other speed grades in the last 6 mos.). Its imperative that it not look like AMD is beating their butt badly.
