To Intel managements credit, they started early working on earnings and saved the stock price. The recent rise in the stock probably has saved their butts...for now... I don't think Intel can afford to look bad anymore and thats why they launched the 1 G prematurely (and all the other speed grades in the last 6 mos.). Its imperative that it not look like AMD is beating their butt badly. .... Scumbia, isn't that my whole point. How does management absolve themselves of this mess. By claiming demand is excessive. Have you heard any production reports telling of any figures on numbers shipped? How do you make money? Create a shortage? Does Intel have the ability to create a shortage? Absolutely. If it means saving their jobs and pissing off customers such as GTW. WHYNOT? When Willy comes out, Intel can get customers back. Meantime Intel admits to nothing.
