Me, from academia? Hardly. I'm a high school dropout; reputable universities across the land lock and bar the gates at the earliest sign of my approach. I find it amusing, though, that you think the notion that science should be taught in science classes and religion in religion classes is a sign of an academic mind. It would seem to me to be a fairly obvious distinction, but I suppose it isn't to everyone. IF it were up to me, every school day would begin with a prayer in each room, followed by the "Pledge of Allegiance" using the words "under God", each school assembly or sporting event would begin with a prayer, and the Ten Commandments would be posted on the wall. Creation would be taught, and abortion reviled. Homosexuality would not be tolerated. Condoms would NOT be passed out. I don't doubt it. But it's not up to you. And as long as we have a Constitution and respect it, it won't be up to you. As long as we have a Constitution and respect it, you won't be able to force my kids to pray to your God, because that is a violation of my right to freedom of religion. As long as we have a Constitution and respect it, you won't be able to tell consenting adults who they can and can't have sex with, because that's none of your business or the Government's. As long as we have a Constitution and respect it, issues like abortion and the passing out of condoms will be settled by the political and judicial processes, not by the decrees of self-appointed theocrats. And if you don't think that's fair, I commend you to your own words: OF COURSE IT'S NOT FAIR!!!!. If someone told you that life, and the world was fair, and you believed him, you are, at least, one bubble off the plumb.
