No, it wouldn't. In specific states like Michigan the Dem vote was high enough and shown to have been organized with and by Dems so that it gave McCain the edge. McCain's win in NH can be more attributed to the $30 million spent by Forbes attacking Bush with the support of the state paper.

The data does show that McCain's appeal was far more limited than anyone was told.
