i bought 15 calls on stratacom back then (a 7,000 dollar investment). stratacom was bought by cisco in a one share for one share merger. i exercised the 15 cisco call contracts. i now have 13,500 shares.

listen to your taxman. there is no such thing as an overpriced put or call. buy them--don't sell them.

regards

I can answer question #2.

There have been four splits during that time frame.
12/17/97---3 for 2
9/15/98----3 for 2
6/22/99----2 for 1
3/23/00----2 for 1

150 shares would have become 1350 shares priced at today's closing price of $77.81, the value of those shares would be worth--$105,043 and change. Please say that you have participated in that runnup.

As for question #1, I don't know how figure the value since today's options were not available in April of 1997, and at which prices you would of had to roll them up is well beyond my understanding of options.
