Transmeta can emulate Merced emulating IA32 faster than Merced can emulate IA32. This means that a 2W Transmeta chip will run x86 code faster a 150W Merced chip.

I'm looking forward to the Transmeta IA64 port. I suspect the Mips/Watt rating of Transmeta will be 2 orders of magnitude better than Merced.
