Although although the discount brokerages seem to be pretty competitive around the price for buying up to 1000 shares, there are some pretty huge discrepancies for penny stocks.

With InvestorLine, who I deal with, any stock under $1 can be purchased for half a cent a share, minimum commission of $25, maximum commission of 2.5% of value of the trade. For 10,000 shares the commission would be $50.

It looks like panic selling has hit TOM and other hi-tech stocks. A few more days and we should be picking up some higher quality stocks.

Maybe it was wise to try to trade TOMmy.
