On the subject of DD pricing, the real authority is Mark Madden who graciously shares his retail price data with us every week. And so far it shows firm prices through-out Q1. In recognition of the stable prices, analysts have started to upgrade their ratings on the DD stocks. Some of us have been saying that DD shares would go up 100% in anticipation of Q1 reports. That has occurred already.

The next hurdle for DD shares is the expected weak technology demand in Q2. I expect that weakness to be as imaginary as the "anticipated December-January drop in disk demand" that analysts cited in keeping their "avoid" ratings on DD stocks. If again PC sales are strong in Q2, then more analysts will jump on the band-wagon, and there will be another round of upgrades and raised targets. I expect MXTR, HDD and WDC to finish this year in the 20's or higher.
