A strong focus on NT's fiberoptic system supply could be a more practical place to start. That would be particularly so if you were able to put that in context of other participants in that area to put NT's place in perspective.

Agreed. It might be all we need to wrap our arms around the discussion that has been taking place. It would be extremely helpful to me and I think for a lot of people.

RE: Project Hunt report for Mountain Lady....

It may seem like a daunting task to assign one person a company that competes in many product fields. For instance, here is where one would begin in evaluating Cisco's products:

High-End Routers
WAN Switches
LAN Switches
IP Telephony
Intelligent Contact Management
Network Application Management
Unified Communications
Hubs
Access Products
Web Scaling Products
Security Products
Open Programmable Switches
InterWorks for SNA
Cisco IOS Software
Network Management
Video Products and Solutions
Optical
Wireless

As has been mentioned, perhaps a team approach of two or three assigned to the task of Nortel and their product line up would be more appropriate and less daunting than a single person's approach. By the way mtnlady, you need not fear other people's work on their Project Hunt reports. I imagine all entered the process with about the same amount of trepidation and certainly an attempt at achieving 'perfection' is not a requirement. It's only designed to be a starting point from which discussion and thought should evolve in the gorilla game context.

That being said, I'm mired in trading exchanges, value adding applications to basic ERP, algorithms and spelling out the revenues for the business to business portion of supply chain inbound/outbound management at the moment. This could be seen as being just as daunting and far removed from singing grand opera in italian as it gets in comparison to your background and reviewing Nortel in a gorilla game context. However, as we have all come to understand on this thread - one can apply the proper elements of gorilla gaming regardless of background.
