Interesting that it was Forrester in the US that is touting that report and also costs for a UK roll-out was in Swedish Kroner?

My views of some analysts within the financial sector are quite well known, however i am a bit surprised with Forrester. The simple fact is 3G will be rolled out in the next 2 years, in most countries minimum coverage and service parameters are part of the spectrum licensing agreement. Forrester, although not one of the main analysts, looks to have shot themselves itself in the foot. In the short-term its goal is to sell the report and I supose they will if these are the findings. In the long-term they will just look plain stupid.

Just a little point to note: When the first 3G networks are rolled out, expect no more than 384 kbps. Higher rates are feasible of course, however initially it is unlikely to be part of the commercial platform. Knowing that, this may then give some credence to Tero's flag waving for EDGE (in particular operators in the 1800 MHz spectrum - word of mouth from One2One when I was writing a report on GPRS recently).

My tuppence worth.
