<<I have the strong feeling that it will be different this time. >>
The most dangerous words in investing. Howeveer, with $20 bil per week flowing into stock mutual funds, most into technology funds, it is different this time, at least for now. But the summer tech sell-off which can take place any time between February and October is an evil, fiendish phenomenom, more resiliant than the cockroach, more powerful than a locomotive and less predictable than a cornered tiger. Even if both real or imagined fundamentals don't turn down, will the market.collapse under a weight it has never attained before. Imagine a Cisco stock split increasing its market cap by more than the amount of General Motors. I'm about to become a convert to stocksplit.com and it will surely be the final capitulation.
