When did I say this was "terrible news for AMD"? Perhaps you should calm down every time I mention anything that isn't gushy-gushy over AMD.

I was merely talking about something I found curious. Why sell an ultra high-end PC at a place like Costco? I think AMD is trying to go too gung-ho with their strategy of climbing the MHz ladder in retail. Intel has the right idea, selling high-end processors into markets that command high margins. Targeting your high-end at retail is a sure-fire way to watch those margins disappear.

But at no time did I EVER say that this was going to be terrible news for AMD. Heck, the more exposure that 1 GHz Athlon has, the better for AMD, even if that exposure means sitting in a demo PC right across the aisle from the M&M's.
