the e-mail address of any staffer at the company. Then using the same format with the CEO's name in the place of the staffer's.

Of course that is a good idea, except for the fact that the email has to make it through to 'administrative assistant' before the CEO ever gets it! I would imagine that the assistant is a pretty efficient filterer of email!

I question whether sending an unsolicited e-mail to a company's CEO will provide any wanted results. I would use that as a last resort.
