Now that I think about it I'm sure you are right, but that's what was suggested on WCBS.

I question whether sending an unsolicited e-mail to a company's CEO will provide any wanted results. I would use that as a last resort.

I agre with DownSouth with the one exception that I would never do it. If I had exhausted virtually all alternatives and felt getting a transmission to the CEO was the way to go, I'd send him/her a hand written note using a very nice card asking that s/he direct the head of investor relations to return my telephone call. I'd then try to get the required information from IR.

I wouldn't do it to an NT, but for a shiny pebble, darn right I would. Carefully couched, perhaps a series of Gorillaness questions IR couldn't really answer well...you'd get a positive response. I was usually a pretty gutsy guy when it came to approaching management types, and probably 90% of the time I got my "in" the first time. Drove the ad managers crazy, and my competitors as well, but then again, I carried a 50 to 70% market share in a five-book field. You just have to do it well, and with absolute confidence. Worked for me.
