Buy and hold doesn't mean buy and never look at your investments again. When the reasons you bought a stock change, you have to reassess. In my case I bought softee years ago because of a great growth story and relative strength during downward markets. Things have changed now and on balance discretion seems the better part of valor. So I've exited about 1/2 of my position over the past few months and have been searching with some difficulty for alternatives. I've had some successes and some failures, and still have a lot of cash to invest as I hunt around for attractive investments. MSFT is itself still a candidate, just like any other stock. Only difference is unless the legal situation is cleared up, I want a better price to assume the risk. I'm glad you're not worried. I'm also enjoying a beautiful weekend here in the bay area and I'm not losing any sleep over the anti-trust mess. Ciao!
