Re: Welcome to the thread

Thanks tejek!! I've been hitting refresh waiting for someone to welcome me to the thread.

I am a little slow....is IBM sampling spitfire or some other AMD chip? I think AMD is causing A. Grove and C. Barrett to cringe a lot no matter the circumstances.

I'm not sure who's sampling what, but here's my guess. I don't think it would be aluminum, that's old news. I don't think it would be spitfire, that's low end. I don't think it would be sledgehammer, I don't think they even have samples out yet. That leaves something Copper out of Dresdan, I'm guessing it was very fast. Like I said, this is pure rumor. There are always hundreds of rumors flying with any company the size of IBM.

I'm straight out of college and am a pee-on for the moment. I make websites, so I don't come in contact with the PC division.

This rumor was started back in November, if I recall right. I've read about it ?here? and on other message boards.

Obviously, if I had true insider info, I would not be able to say anything.

I figured someone would ask eventually, that's why I answered the question. I think the point is, positive rumors are spreading about AMD chips. Can we say the same about Titanium? Kind of funny I think...
