No further news means a drop at the open---Time to buy calls (or shares).
Some news of settlement talks means the stock rallies and time to buy some PUTS (or sell your stock position).

I would wait for the settlement before loading up on out of the money calls on MSFT. I thought about doing it before but believe it is a better bet to buy high and sell much higher.

If ruling is made by the judge; then it depends..

I am just talking about trading opportunities and not investing.
