Hello Frederick, I'm sure that I'll have a few posts to get through ... I'm trying to read as quickly as possible ... > Specific Step By Step Nonsense..... Hmmm ... not sure that most of the business world operates this way ... > We've had discussions about this until we were blue in > the face. I agree ... obviously, there is not enough detail yet ... > NOTHING - I repeat - NOTHING will happen, can happen > unless people first pass the test of creating goodwill > and trust with one another. I'm sorry ... I thought that you were the one that was going to extend this trust first ... I'm not sure if we are talking about the same thing or not, but I'm referring to you and Novell ... > I have shared a ton of ideas concerning general > direction, vision, mission and energy with this > community. Likewise ... I have shared extensively, and even explained details of how such software could be architected and implemented ... > I dare say the energy and ideas I have shared have had a > much more profound impact on Novell, Eric Schmidt, > Steve Adams, you and all the rest of those who read this > board - for one simple reason. Hmmm ... and I was thinking that I was working on digitalme *far* before we ever had these exchanges ... ;-) > Scott, I'm not going to fall these negative "show me" > games, whether they are posed by you or anyone else. Hmmm ... negative ... actually I'm surprised that you have taken such a "negative" attitude towards me and this thread. I'm going to guess that you are having a bad day. If you're having problems with Novell, then talk with them. I'm simply trying to explain to you, from my extensive years of working at Novell, how you might be able to make more progress. If you are frustrated with your lack of response so far, could it be a combination of Novell *and* your approach? Just a thought ... > You couldn't get them to move. And here you were on the > inside in the best position to effect massive change. Yes ... there was movement, but not in the direction that I wanted. That's my problem ... not theirs. I *am* disappointed though since I think that there is a huge value in the direction that my research and development is going ... > Why did you fail? So this is an interesting question. (Is this a negative?) I don't look at it as failing ... I succeeded at what I wanted to do for myself, and also succeeded at making a lot of people very aware of a number of technologies evolving in the Internet. Novell failed to take advantage of the situation and momentum ... > Why did you quit? I quit, just as I have the last two times, in order to do my own thing, at my own pace! I'm not a very patient person at times, and have a difficult time waiting for corporate beauracracy. I didn't see the movement in directions that I was interested in ... so if I'm going to "sit and wait" I'd rather do that in my own lab, rather than at Novell. > But lets's not get down in the mud. My Fred, that almost sounds like some sort of threat ... not quite the positive "front" that you normally expose. My intention was to try and explain an alternative approach to Novell ... if you have a problem with that, then I'm sorry. > Let's try to come together and ask positive questions > which are inclusive. Yeah ... I guess that we could ask questions all day and all night ... but I have a feeling that Novell's executives are interesting in suggestions and answers ... specifics. That's all I was suggesting ... Scott C. Lemon
