ted, If Intel has all these fabs, all at high yield and all at high volume, as Elmer says, then where are the seas of parts that should be out there?. The die sizes have fallen and this should have worked to make a veritable ocean of parts from Intel. Maybe this leakage problem and the botched gates are being fought by the rush implementation of
some broad fix at the dielectric level...that does not work as hoped?
And yet AMD has parts, and we know Intel has money and this proves the statement that
"parts will get you through times of no money better than money will get you through times of no parts".

Re: "I would think you might be better off to focus on whether AMD will do well this quarter and beat the consensus, and thereby increase the value of your shares"

I guess you missed this part of my post:

"Meanwhile I still think AMD is a reasonable stock to hold at this time. I am long shares and short lots of near term puts at strikes of $35 $37.5 and $50. Also some leap puts at $15. Also short some CCs, April $60s"

I think AMD hasn't let loose on Dresden yet, as They want Dresden to be able to produces as much as
Fab 25 as everyone will want on-die L2.

So clear out your Al Athlons to make way for the Cu Athlon's

Drop Prices and continue to let Dresden crank out Chips until your output matches or exceeds Fab 25 output.
