Your missing my point. My argument here has been that PLUG is way overvalued by the investment community because a residential fuel cell is a luxury item at this point in time. It is not something for mainstream use. Gas turbines are much more economical, and now have the capability of being even more environmentally friendly than the fuel cell, but that's another story..."Environmentalists Warn Fuel Cell Halo May Tarnish." biz.yahoo.com

My point is that DTE is investing, I think wisely, in distributed power products involving gas turbines. This, in my opinion, is not good for Plug Power. For every microturbine that DTE connects to a residential microgrid, there are that many fewer residential fuel cells that DTE will try to put into individual homes. DTE will soon have two products to offer customers: relatively expensive fuel cells or a gas microturbine. To justify PLUG's valuation, they must count on supplying A LOT of fuel cells. If their distributors have competing products, it bodes less well for PLUG.
