NEW YORK, Mar 27, 2000 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- In a move that brings mobilesatellite communications one step closer to worldwide availability, Globalstar (NASDAQ: GSTRF) today announced that its Ericsson-manufactured mobile satellite
phone has received type approval from the European Telecommunications Standards International (ETSI.) Ericsson will begin shipping phones immediately to its
established global distribution network. The Ericsson R290 Satellite Globalstar/GSM dual-mode handset offers cellular extension services to vast
regions of the world where there is no cellular service or where service is inadequate.

"The ETSI's approval of the Ericsson R290 phone for the first time allows Globalstar to reach planned levels of production on the part of all three manufacturers," said Tony Navarra, president of Globalstar. "Accordingly,
distributors throughout Europe and other countries served by GSM cellular networks can now offer customers easy to use, affordable access to satellite communications, and a solid foundation through which to receive next-generation
wireless services."

The Ericsson R290 features include:

. If the stock were to drop into the $10 to $14 zone, I think it would make sense to begin to step in. Single digits would be a no brainer.

Since we are now in single digits and the risks going forward seem to be reasonable, have you started averaging in? Or, are you waiting for McCaw to make a run for LOR to gain control of GSTRF?
