NHC selects Allcom Telecomunicazioni as its new DSL market value-added integrator in Italy MONTREAL, March 31 /CNW/ - NHC Communications Inc. (TSE: NHC), a leading provider of carrier class test access and deployment solutions for the Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) service market, today announced that it has signed an Agent Agreement with Allcom Telecomunicazioni. Allcom will be the exclusive representative for the sale of NHC's VCCS products in Italy. "Italy and the European Community countries are key markets in the global DSL industry," said Mr. Bernard Sarrade-Loucheur, Vice President of NHC Europe, a subsidiary of NHC. "DSL technology is being deployed at a quicker pace than originally expected by many industry forecasters. As a result, we are moving to consolidate our presence in the principal European countries through strategic distribution partnerships such as this arrangement with Allcom Telecomunicazioni." The speed of DSL penetration in Europe is being influenced strongly by the announcement of several major ventures deploying DSL technology in most European countries. These initiatives will help to create a sound DSL infrastructure throughout the continent. "NHC's VCCS(TM) products complement our existing range of offerings and provide unique solutions to today's and tomorrow's needs," said Ottimo Valentini, Chief Executive Officer of Allcom Telecomunicazioni. "We are evaluating the deployment of VCCS(TM) on a number of our current and potential products and look forward to a long and fruitful relationship with NHC." In addition to strengthening its distribution network in Europe, NHC is growing its overseas business by leveraging its North American customer base. Major U.S. Competitive Local Exchange Carriers (CLECs), who aligned their business development strategies to offer global DSL services, have recently announced plans to expand throughout Europe. The CLECs will compete against local phone carriers and regional DSL providers. "Our intention is to grow with our customers," said Mr. Sylvain Brossard, NHC's Vice-President Finance and Operations. "A major element of NHC's strategy is to provide technology support to major internationally focused CLECs as they expand around the world.
