Query Ok, back from Vegas. Realized that since I've discovered options, craps no longer excites me (although I still, um, left some money on the table). Have not yet caught up on the 350 recent contributions to thread bloat, but will post this anyway, in the hopes of starting a discussion. One of my gambling buddies works for, how shall I say, a major chipmaker. He's a very sharp guy, and fully familiar with the Game, so we naturally spent much of the weekend talking tech stocks. At one point he was expounding, with passion and skill, the same idea Lindy had floated a while back, that Intel was not--or at least, was no longer--a gorilla, but rather a strong king. What intrigued me, however, was where he took this. If Intel is not a gorilla but a king (or will slide into being one), then AMD is not a monkey but a prince (or will slide into being one). If such a transformation does in fact happen, then AMD's valuation should increase significantly--and with a current market cap of only $7 billion, that leaves lots of room to run. Thinking it over, and trusting the source as I do, I just bought some wvvat's (Jan 02 100 AMD LEAPS calls). I'd be curious what those familiar with the industry think... tekboy/Ares@monkeysi!.com
