We use GG metrics to identify sector rulers, and Intel certainly rules its with an iron fist.

Yes, Frank, I agree with you. While re-reading the book this weekend, I though of another example of Intel acting like a gorilla. When it changed the chip packaging from Socket 7 (in which the chip is placed face down) to the new architecture, which has the chip placed side-down AMD had to change their packaging in order to be compatible with Intel motherboards (Intel, I might add, rules this area of the market as well).

<<I believe what you and Dancelot are interpreting as King-like behavior is simply the mannerism of a great Silverback strolling leisurely down Main Street.>>

we'll see. The AMD/INTC wars are so bitter and rely so heavily on such technical expertise that I have no hope of arriving at an independent opinion on the merits of the case. So, having paid my money, I'm now going to take my chances.

<<[AMD] may have peaked>> --DS

Perhaps, but perhaps not. I expect this quarter to be excellent, the next quarter possibly a bit slower. My real concern is less Franq's than Lindy's: AMD's execution has all too often been lousy in the past, and to take advantage of the opportunity before them they'll have to break that pattern.

BTW, for all SNDK investors out there, I gather AMD's flash operations are looking very good...
