Dear t2 and Thread:

Have you seen or heard from JFD (aka John F. Dowd).
I find it had to believe he is out of softee.

abbigail

PS

He provided much support to softee longs and I am afraid he may have finally puked his guts out over the doj. <:[

I love Mr Softee, and I have held through thick and thin..

I still have options on MSFT (of which I will lose heavily by April if it does not move), and 200 shares.

I had a large amount of 2001 LEAPS which I sold yesterday.

Since they had less than 9 months to go with expiration, did I do the right thing T2 ?

I looked at my worse case, i.e. no settlement, and I was pretty sure I would lose it all, since LEAPS compared to shares would have been extinguished unto nothing in 9 months ...

DId I do the right thing ?

Of course, 50% of the time <g> I am a contrary indicator, that by the time I throw in the towel, things can only go up...

Let me know OK ?

Do you think if they settle, I will have a chance to buy 2002's (LEAPS) at a good price, or will it gap UP massively on news of the settlement ?

Take care
Appreciate you advice and experience
Jean

thanks.

i'm afraid the projected slowdown in earnings growth, not the legal problems, is what is holding the stock back. however, if microsoft blows away earnings and revenue projections next month, the stock will fly regardless of where the legal case stands.

regards

Most possibly the negotiations will continue into 4/7 or 4/14 and I think they will settle. The stock may hover around 110 till 4/14. But I think after settlement and earnings, the stock will move to 120 - 130 range.

There is a lot of risk with the April out of the money options. The risks are that expiration is 18 biz days away and TPJ who has already given 10 more days could easily give another 10 days if needed.
