ted Re: In fact I am surprised that they have not preannounced.

ted,
There are one of 2 things that could happen. They're not pre-announcing because things aren't that great, IE they meet or exceed by a little. The second possibility, they're sick of getting no respect and having to face their past, so they want to post a blow out quarter and show everyone that AMD is for real.

I'm hoping for the second. I'm also looking for Kernal Sanders to give a positive outlook on Q2. I wouldn't have all of my money tied up in 50 options contracts if I thought just meeting expectations was actually possible. I'm looking for a huge blowout quarter.

Re: "With Intel capacity constrained,I would expect that they should have a very good quarter. In fact I am surprised that they have not preannounced. What are your thoughts?"

I think Intel will post a strong quarter however I think the shareprice got ahead of itself and needs to consolidate or pull back for a while. As for AMD, it looks to me like it's going to stick around here in the mid 50s until earnings. If earnings are strong and with a good forecast then I expect it will move higher. No surprise. I'll be writing more puts and CCs.
