Sure.

Schwab has a portion of their web site dedicated to stocks with "special" margin requirements, 80%, 70%,60%, 50% cash/buying power required. Nothing there about 100% stocks, or even if there are any.

The only place it was listed was on the "submit order" screen, in the fine print which is (on every other occasion) just throwaway info - like the size of the transaction, expected commission $, etc.

So, I created this covered call situation, buy stock/same time sell options and ended up with a HUGE margin call because the stock was non-marginable. So I am forced to come up with mucho $$ or unwind at a loss.

My contention in my phone calls to Schwab was that they owed me better than to not have their 100% stocks listed (didn't even realize there was such an animal), or to have more clearly shown that the stock was not marginable. Of course, they said "Hey, we put it there, you just didn't read it."

I am looking at about a $25K loss right now to unwind.

Comments or advice appreciated.

Best,
Jeff Smith
