Perhaps one does not realize the ego trip that a Judge or Lawyer is on with the opportunity to "put down", punish and fine the richest man in the world? Not to mention the effect of this on their resume...
These are things most Lawyers only dream about at cocktail parties..

I have a question for you. Why is DOJ is even talking to MSFT? Judge Jackson has already made up his mind aobut the
sentence, and it will be steep. So, what DOJ had to gain, O wonder.


Every other Microsoft decision made by this judge has been overturned on appeal. Maybe the DOJ doesn't think this trend will change.
