Is this "old economy" thingie just a fad or for real? -
We are seeing a tremendous resurgence of old economy stocks, banks, drugs cos (real ones), industrials, airlines, retail, utilities, retail, etc making very strong moves the past few days while the former darlings, the techs, nets, etc have been doing the old swanee dive. Is this just another value bounce or the start of a real trend?
IMO, i think this trend will have legs. These stocks have been beaten down TOO much for TOO long. Right now the techs are being treated like the old economy stocks were for the past year and a half. Techs will come back strong, though i think there will be some more gut-wrenching downside, but a prudent investor, trader or whatever, would have some of his/her money in these old economy sectors. prudent= wants to make money. jmho. larry

Hi Cuz ---

What does your BCT say about our beaten up GUMM? Time to throw in the towel?

my usage of the BCT on equities gives some very strange readings as the modifications in the past years have taken effect ( use mech pencil instead of #2 yellow wood and graph paper instead of a BigChief or BlueHorse ruled tablet and strangest of all of the changes is no fundamental analysis as now I don't know or care what the *symbol* does for wage and profit)
but
I
digress (again...ggggg)

GUMM ==== short since 17 1/2 and looking for 12 1/2

and before I leave for Big D to pick up a patio set we bought last weekend here is the report on the 3 indexes and the spoo future

DIA === covered the short from 110 at 110 for breakeven, SARed it and went long there

QQQ === still short from 117 1/2 with cover moved down to 114 now

SPY === still short from 152 1/2 with cover still set at breakeven

SP0H and ES0H === still short from 1539 with cover now at breakeven

Good luck on the well drilling ----
whacha drilling for this time ==== water?????? hehehehe

Nemer

ps ... appears a whipsaw loss is forthcoming on the DIA so I will suspend the cover price and let the chart do the telling after 10:30am EST ---- I won't be here but I'll let you know if it was a wise move or not late tonight or tomorrow morning ..... BZG
