"Shareholders of Seagate, which has a market value of $15 billion, will receive approximately $77.50 per share for each share of Seagate common stock, which includes 0.47 Veritas shares and $5 in cash, based on closing prices March 28....For Seagate holders, the deal represents a 26 percent premium above the stock's 30-day average price, the companies said."

Robert and Thread- Well if you read the above literally, it's even worse than I thought. Something must be written incorrectly in the CBS MarketWatch piece.

There is no way that it can be expected SEG shareholders are fairly represented by a $77.50/share offer. Mainly valued by an Internut valuation!?.

It'll probably taking listening to the CC to figure this one out. It can't be as bad as it appears above, can it? -MikeM(From Florida)
