Taiwan Semicon +2.5% On Price Hike ... the company plans to raise foundry prices for chips. TSMC's announcement of higher foundry prices is definitely good news! The carryover to UMC will benefit both UMC and ALSC. The ongoing strength of UMC provides an underlying support for ALSC. When ALSC dips while UMC climbs, it increases the disparity between the ALSC and the greater value of its holdings. It builds like the force of tectonic plates. Eventually (and perhaps suddenly), the price of ALSC will move to mirror the underlying value. Generally, ALSC looks like it is being accumulated. It moves up on big volume, drops on light volume. Meanwhile, there is that pattern of increasing institutional ownership.... Baird
