Jim, I am not touching any industry stock doing a debt or equity offering now, unless it is for very profitable reasons. My stocks have cash coming out the wazoo right now, and are buying back stock and/or paying down debt. If a company needs cash something is seriously wrong IMHO.

I think we must keep in mind that GW was a total laggard and was trading in the 1s and 2s for a very long time. For them to issue stock at $4/share must seem like a god-send.

I agree with Q, I'd be very cautious. If your patient, you can wait but I suggest looking at SFY for clues. They sold some stock on the market and their price stagnated for a few months while many stocks in the sector were moving up.

I think it's a short term negative which will cap the upside. Longer term, it's probably going to be very helpful to the company.

JMO.
Michael

jim_p, What are your thoughts on crude here? The out months look very strong. The Jan 01 is trading around 24 and has merely undergone only a sideways correction. Considering the carrying costs, I find it encouraging for all patch investors that futures traders seem so optimistic about this mid twenties zone holding. Do you think this is a kind of proof that the floor is in in the mid twenties?
