Douglas,

<< Cripes, you would think some of that $50,000,000 would buy them some imagination. For $0.02 I give 'em STORE-IT! >>

LOL!

Actually, it costs a lot more nowadays for the good names. ;-) the bigger name companies go out and outsource the naming now. A good friend of mine works at www.naming.com and they are responsible for Sun's 'jiro', Intel's 'ITanium,' and Charles Schwab's 'Signiture Services' i believe. She met with Sun last week and i asked her about 'Purple' (Sun's new storage line) but she's under NDA and wouldn't tell me squat. ;-)

My post from Feb. 9th is kind of on target here. This type of combination is showing some signs of being a winner already.

"It is possible that the trend to move towards optical networks, that is feeding the buying frenzy of optical stocks, will then power up the trend in Fibre Channel technology because of the resulting growth of ASPs and storage centric networks; this could result in a buying frenzy (eventually) of Fibre Channel companies and integrating them into the optical SAN giants that would come out of say a merger between EMC & Oracle with a buy out of Lucent, Nortel or Cisco buying up MTI, or Sunw. Just some thinking out loud here about what the future might bring."
