This is a great discussion - another great SI moment.

INCY first raised $150MM in a convertible offering with a conversion price in the mid-130's. Then it raised $422MM by selling shares at $211. So, they now have a war chest with about $600MM, a market cap of about $2.6B and what seems to be promising growth in front of them.

VRTX was another good find. They raised lots of money and their future is in front of them.

Another one is Pharmacyclics (PCYC), which raised $60MM in a private placement last month.

Why didn't Gliatech raise some money? I think Rick is right about these guys in every sense - they have good science, but they just don't get it.

What does everyone think about Immune Response? Am surprised people are not more excited about the progress it is making (IMNR).

Elan (ELN). I bought some late last year and wondered how a value and growth company like this gets lost in the shuffle. It has a line up in front of the FDA, a billion dollars in cash, and big equity stakes in lots of US biotech companies that we all know by name. I suspect one of the reasons it has held up well is that it trades on the NYSE instead of the NASDAQ.

Anyone else scrape up more quality companies that took advantage of nutty valuations to raise more cash?

<Selling pressure from Janus could further affect INCY.>

I am truly flabergasted by that press release... truly amazing to me that they would do that... they have quite a reputation! Wouldn't be surprised to see a retraction.
