The Tiger Fund closed down precisely because they got hung up on "evaluation" and they were losing money. How much is CTXS worth? Whatever people will pay for it. Period. How much cash flow will they get from ASP or ICA royalties in two years and sales of their Win NT products? Who knows. CTXS is a company that has excellent management, vision and products. That's what you are buying with CTXS.

If one bought only on the basis of evaluation we would all buy MRK, PFE, JNJ GE etc and guess what? Their prices would be sky high.

[I orginally bought into the company at $23 based on the expectations I outlined above. And those same expectations lead me to sell at $60]
To be fair, you did not sell them. They were called out.<g>
I bought at $30 with your tip, boxed at $118. Unfortunately, unboxed too early. But my CTXS costs is now $4/share when deducted the boxed profit from the base. Being afraid paying too much short term tax has determined my selling.

"Considering the riskiness of the stock it seems to me that the market is telling us that it expects growth well in excess of 40% for 10 years or more."

CTC- As a purely hypothetical situation, if I could predict the future, and only shared with you privately that CTXS was going to grow 40% for the next ten years...wouldn't you be backing up the truck, loading up on CTXS shares, and closing your eyes as to what happens between now and then? I know I would.

My point is, this hope is what may be driving valuations in a company like CTXS, or CSCO for that matter. Personally, I think Cisco is so incredibly well positioned in the transformation of the old world networks, to the new world, that it is indeed likely they will be the first company in history to have a market cap of $1 trillion.

The paradigm that ICA offers, just may push CTXS into gorilla status. That's how it's being valued.

Thanks for your thoughts. I do appreciate them and they make good sense -MikeM(From Florida)

PS Please don't take this to mean I believe CTXS is going to be a gorilla. I honestly don't have an opinion. That is why I have to watch it so darned closely.

"The number of diluted shares outstanding has been growing at around 5% per annum, so in 10 years we would expect 315 MM diluted shares."

CTC- I was going back and reviewing your nicely detailed comments and noted that I forgot to question the above comment in your present value calculations based on future operating cash flow.

Why would you assume this? The last thing CTXS needs is additional capital. They did that HUGE convertible offering last year. And I thought all diluted shares included the convertibles already.

So hypothetically what if you removed the 5% per annum figure above...what would be the new PV assuming 40% growth of OCF? Or more realistically as you point out, how about a figure of 30% OCF growth? All within the 10 year time frame of your examples. Thanks. -MikeM(From Florida)

PS It's probably a simple matter of arithmetic. Bringing back share count to it's current level. But I just want to make sure I've got it right.
