>> You seem to be calling him a liar or close to it, for what he seems to think was carelessness. Why?

I can understand your annoyance at my dialog with Tinker, Cha2, since your approach to investing has much in common with his - an enthusiastic, even passionate search for small companies that will outperform the tech world. In your case, you readily admit you are not a Gorilla Gamer, limit your dialog about SPs in deference to the rest of the thread, and are willing to do the dd necessary to present accurate factual representations of your theories and findings, which is why you are always always welcome here.

I resent you putting words in my mouth, Cha2, particularly contentious ones. If I thought Tinker were a liar, I wouldn't need your help to say so. Please put yourself in the Penalty Box for the balance of the weekend.

>>pray tell, to warrant such anger <<

Having witnessed a number of flare-ups on this thread, it seems to me they all follow a rather similar pattern. Someone posts something that is either quite off-topic or in some manner just plain wrong and not germain to the purpose of this thread. Invariably, since there are thousands of lurkers, for one or two of them, the item or idea mentioned is a personal favorite and they chime in. At that point a "thread elder" seeing the thread veering off course attempts to reset the course. The original poster, instead of stepping back, digs in and we descend from there.

This last instance featured both offenses - an off-topic area and a misstatement of fact. When we talk about a stock price in the past this in not an area of opinion or speculation. The price a stock traded at during any given period is a matter of factual record and any net user should be able to look it up. For an intelligent person to persist in publically misstating a stock price is puzzling.

I appreciate the efforts of people like Uncle Frank, DownSouth, chaz, tekboy and others to keep this thread factual, on course, and away from thread bloat. It is not an easy thing to do, they open themselves to criticism and disagreeable posts and they rarely receive the thanks they deserve.
