thanks JCC,next time it happens,i will try the Ctrl/Alt/Delete and see if i get an "end task" window--to get back to desk top,the question to be resolved is will the "end task" respond to my mouse click-- i have been searching the MSFT web-site,and found this a common problem with anyone having ATI 3D-RAGE drivers,and they say ATI has acknowledged this---my computer i am using is a new Presario,it is a monster compared to my old computer,and i see it does have "enhanced 3DNow! technology" as they advertise on sticker,but on running the the word "rage" through a search files ---nothing turns up---max
