just mvho, but I don't think this deal has an ice cube's chance in you-know-where of passing. I'm almost regretting selling most of my position but have a feeling I'll get a chance to buy back at a cheaper price. Like you, Ad, I just lost all confidence in mgmnt.
That opinion begs the question "how does management adjust, or rescind, the offer and save face (not to mention their jobs)?" One sure-fire way would to blame the price of VRTS stock (if it drops, which is a big if - but tech surely seems to correct in late spring/early summer, and I don't think this year will be much different.) There does seem to be a rotation out of momentum and into value (or GARP, anyway). I guess a lot depends on VRTS earnings, which could very well be blow-out, but the stock is already priced for that, imho.
All pure speculation on my part.
