RESEARCH ALERT - Microsoft reiterated strong buy
NEW YORK, April 3 (Reuters) - SG Cowen analyst Drew Brousseau reiterated his strong buy rating on software company Microsoft Corp. (NasdaqNM:MSFT - news) on Monday.

-- price target at $140.

-- antitrust mediation talks between Microsoft and the Justice Department broke down.

-- analyst saw Microsoft appealing a finding of law in the case that could go against it.

-- appeals process could last "many quarters."
-- shares closed at 106-1/4, down at 96-3/4 in pre-opening
dealings.
